Sophie is the Vice Chairperson of the Asian Rhino Project and has been a zoo keeper for over 12 years, specialising in African and Asian Species. Sophie has had a keen passion for rhinos and their plight since her high school years when she did work experience with black rhinos. Sophie has managed Breeding Programs in the Australasian Region for species such as the Endangered African Painted Dog, and is currently a Team Leader at the National Zoo & Aquarium in Canberra, managing a wide variety of ungulate and carnivore species. Sophie holds several qualifications including a Post Graduate Certificate in Captive Vertebrate Management, Certificate 3 in Zoo keeping and a Diploma in Animal Technology. She is passionate about promoting conservation and environmental awareness through her voice as a zookeeper.
